Neuroscience

The Department of Psychology at Seoul National University also employs a neuroscientific approach to study the human mind. We utilize brain data such as EEG and fMRI, as well as biological data including genomics. Through this, we investigate the mechanisms underlying human perception, cognition, and psychopathology, while also trying to further develop predictive models of human mind.
We also utilize cutting-edge technologies such as machine-learning techniques and virtual reality (VR) to enhance the computational model and heighten the understanding of human perception and cognition.
Our research in the field of neuroscience within our department, includes but are not limited to: object perception, spatial perception, emotion perception, memory encoding and retrieval, individual differences in cognitive development, genetic influence on cognitive development and aging mechanisms, and data science in human neuroscience.
