제목 : Overcoming WEIRD Bias through Diverse and Large Epidemiological Cohort Studies

초록: Empirical evidence from behavioral and social sciences is often not generalizable to all humans, as most studies have been conducted among “Western, Educated, Industrial, Rich, and Democratic” (WEIRD) populations. A similar bias is observed in rapidly advancing human genetics research, where studies are primarily conducted in populations of European ancestry. This presentation will introduce research aimed at addressing this gap by leveraging large epidemiological cohorts from diverse populations. Specifically, it will explore the utility of positive psychology, psychological hedonism, and genetics in enhancing population health.
